Katie,
along
with her brother, Abe, (Westwind
Abernaki Chief) comes from an exciting field
breeding from
Westwind
Mackenzie Goldrush's last breeding to Delaware
Chief Nicobe. This was a frozen breeding bringing
back an excellent field trial line that has had
very
limited breeding. It is an excellent addition
to our limited gene pool. The
sire, Nicky, made the 1990 National Derby
list with 13 derby points. Despite limited
trialing due to a change in owners, Nicky also
had a Qualifying
win and an Amateur All-breed win. Look
for both these "Rudy" grandchildren
on the field trial circuit. |
Katie is
a beautiful dog and a fast and stylish retriever.
She is a very smart, trainable and focused retriever,
who learns new concepts in field training very
quickly. In October 2003, at 14 months of age, she
earned a
Derby Judges' Award of Merit at the Chesapeake National
Field Specialty in Kingman, Kansas.
